A little about website design.
WAIT!! :P you will want this text, so copy and paste it into notepad or something text. Or just be lazy and hit CTRL+N
and go back to the website builder (says how to below)
All you really need to know is where to go to do what you want with a website. If your hosts provide it, you can do it.
So now i'll give you a breif summary of how to build a website the way YOU want it to. So now, once in website builder (login
at www.tripod.com, then click the pic or words labeled "Site Builder", they will be in either blue or underlined,
DO NOT use it at the top, mind you, you can use it. it's not nessary, and will just take longer. anyways once in site builder..)
You will first want to pick your background design/picture which is located on the sitebuilder screen. You can access it anytime
you want and make changes to it via your own descretion. If you have trouble finding the page site builder, do the instructions
in pharenthesis and then click click on the text labeled "So you know!" in bold font. Moving back, on your main
sitebuilder, you have a toolbar with pictures on it describing what you can do offset the website. ( Add text, add a picture,
add link, add table, so on so forth) In this toolbar, you want to select "Change Look" icon.
Then you want to select "Choose A New Design?" text and scroll through the one you want. There is plenty of
them to pick from. Or if you are fimial with HTMLing then you can copy one from another website. If you want to know how to
do this, you can ask me (Kai) anytime at school or home. So now that you have your design picked out, click on the "Change
Look" icon again in the main window toolbar at the bottom. Now select "Edit your current Design?" Text and
make the changes that you want, upload pics and whatnot from it's very simple task manager.
Back on the main screen, you will see the "Edit Navigation"
button, Click this now. When you hit this, you will see two differant text's appear, From this select Customize the text
links on the navigation Bar" text and customize them to your liking. Don't worry about the bottom text, as (unless you
know how) it's just for more advanced HTMLing, but also for beginners, don't play around with the settings too much :P
I wouldn't recommend adding sounds to your website as it will take a long time to load. When your done making the changes
you wanted, You can click (on the bottom toolbar) "Publish to Web" buttom. This automaticaly saves the changes to
your website. For now you don't need to worry about the other icons on the toolbar. Enjoy! ;)
